Webinar: Wellness and Well-being – The Vet’s Hidden Asset or Liability!
The Kenya Small Animal Veterinary Association (KESCAVA) in conjunction with Dove-Lewis, a Critical Care and Emergency Referral Veterinary Hospital in Portland, Oregon, USA, is inviting you to a two – part Zoom meeting, entitled, “Wellness and Well-being – The Vet’s Hidden Asset or Liability!”
Brief Description:
The personal & professional wellness of veterinarians & veterinary staff has been receiving increased attention in veterinary publications & conferences , social media and the non-veterinary press. There is an increased recognition that stress & compassion fatigue coupled with a demanding workplace environment are adversely affecting the mental well-being and physical health of veterinarians. As the KESCAVA executive, we believe that for veterinary professionals to realize their full potential and the global veterinary profession to remain sustainable, maintaining high levels of mental health and wellbeing for all members of the veterinary team is a priority. Improving veterinary mental health and wellbeing has a positive impact on individuals, the profession at large and, ultimately, animal health and welfare, and public health.
KESCAVA and AFSCAN, are therefore delighted to have teamed up with Dove-Lewis, (a partner in the AFSCAN-AVMA Practice Twinning Program), to have lectures presented on this very important topic.

1. Dr. Shana O’Marra, DVM, DACVECC
2. Ms. Debrah Lee, LCSW
