56TH KVA annual conference & WVD
The Kenya Veterinary Association will hold it’s 56th Annual Scientific Conference at the Lake Naivasha Resort in Naivasha, Kenya as from 27th to 29th April, 2022 and mark the World Veterinary Day Celebrations on 30th April 2022. The theme of the Celebrations will be “Strengthening Veterinary Resilience“.
The activities shall be carried out countrywide encompassing media engagement, public veterinary education, animal resource industry sector advocacy, information exchange, scientific conference, and AGM/elections climaxing into the World Veterinary Day celebrations.

The conference programme will include oral paper and poster presentations and enlightening discussions and talks relating to all aspects of, “Strengthening Veterinary Resilience.“

Delegates Information
Delegates are expected to arrive in Naivasha on Tuesday 26th April 2022 and head to their respective hotels.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
The Conference cost will ONLY cover the cost of meals and soft drinks served at the Conference venue, but excluding alcohol, telephone and facsimile services.
Delegations are advised to book rooms for their members who are not catered for by the Conference. A list of major hotels in Naivasha will be provided on this page (scroll down).
TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENT
All delegates, as well as members of advance teams, will be expected to make their own transport arrangements. If required the Secretariat can assist to identify appropriate vehicles for hire.
PARKING
Parking of vehicles will be at the Lake Naivasha Resort.
SECURITY/ OTHER
- Security personnel will patrol the exhibition stands throughout the days of the conference.
- All participants will be screened.
- There will be dedicated ushers to assist with logistics at the event.
HEALTH & SAFETY
All Covid-19 protocols will be implemented and observed. The conference secretariat has organized for first aid services with the hotel. Kindly note the Secretariat will only cater for minor medical cases and emergency evacuations will be facilitated where necessary and that the delegates cost. Delegates will cater for their medical bills if hospitalized.

NAIVASHA – WEATHER AND CLIMATE
The average minimum temperature (usually the minimum temperature is noted during the night) in Naivasha in April is 11.0°C (51.8°F). The amount of rain in April is high with an average of 143mm (5.6in). This makes it the wettest month of the year. The average maximum daytime temperature lies around 26.0°C (78.8°F). The sun will occasionally show itself with 180 hours of sunshine during the whole month.
Visitors travelling to Naivasha should plan on bringing a totally waterproof rain jacket since it will often be raining. Also, bring your shorts or a skirt because it can be very warm or even hot.

Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation of delegate registration, KVA can offer refunds on the following basis:
Cancellation more than 2 weeks before the event Full refund minus 10% of total for administrative charge
Cancellation between 2 weeks and 3 days before the event 50% refund
Cancellation less than 3 days before the event 25% refund
Cancellation after the start of the event No refund
